Valdres Golf

Like many golf course projects Valdres has had quite a long incubation period, lasting almost ten years.

The first 9 holes opened in 2003 along the shores of a magnificent fjord just south of Fagernes in Norway.

A base of gravel meant that the area was easy to work on during all weather conditions.

The course is extremely well drained and is developing a mature appearance already thanks to the

ease with which the right grasses are establishing. Two golf holes (a par 4 and a par 3) are actually

placed on an island in the fjord, with a tee shot for the par 4 hole itself on its own little island.

The par 3 holes vary enormously in character and difficulty, with carries over water, alterntive

routes and different length of shots. Even the par 4’s and 5’s are contrasting and give a lot of

enjoyment to play.
